They lift up their hands,
Does the Dove lift His wings?
They lift up their voices,
Do their hearts really sing?
Do they worship the King?

O, that You were here with us!
You are here, I know;
You watch them, every moment,
As they put on their show.
Is it real? Lord, You know.

Why do I question, you ask?
Who am I to say
That what they do is not true?
Do they obey
The Truth, the Life, the Way?

Not my word, but Yours, Lord,
Do they ever ignore;
Will they be this way forever,
Never know you more?
Are you knocking at the door?

Lord, I cannot know their stories,
More than I can count,
All I can do is worship You
For fixing me on Your mount,
Drink from the everlasting fount.

I wrote this after holding a private worship service in my room one Sunday when I couldn't get a ride to church. It seems like so many worship services are based on emotions and "feeling spiritual" and putting on a good show, rather than actually submitting to the Holy Spirit. That isn't really worshiping - it's just emotionalism. So I wrote this poem so people who read it can know the difference.

Note: I had posted this poem before, but I tool it down when I sent it to the World Poetry Movement. Looks like that was a scam, so I'm putting it back up in case my work was stolen.

Yes, there is a huge difference between emotionalism and the still, small voice of the Spirit. You are very wise to see that.
