Eclipse
He girds my soul with heaven's perfect light,
He sets my heart ablaze with wondrous grace;
Sometimes a shadow, creeping like the night,
Obscures his beauty, dims his lovely face.
He bars me from my love, ignores my cry,
His eyes as cold as ice, he pulls at me;
My eyes see naught, though desperately they try,
My life is twined with his eternally.
And yet, eternity one day desists,
I breathe the air around me, bright and sweet;
My lips can taste my lover's tender kiss,
Before him pain and darkness must retreat.
And should the dismal shade return once more,
My heart shall wait in peace amidst the war.
